The project was to result in a short animation, in a style of our choice, staging the confrontation between two plushies from the same universe.
LIGHT AND
NIGHTMARES
Ako’s mission is to protect children’s dreams by drawing their nightmares into a magic orb, while the light from his star soothes them.
His brother Kina, who failed his mission by breaking his orb, was banished from their community and forced to live in darkness.
RESEARCH
I did a lot of research on Ako’s design: how he would carry his orb, and which proportions would make him as cute as possible. His brother, by contrast, had to look swollen and bloated next to him. Deprived of light, his star rotted and sank into his skull.
